It is an attempt to present certain unique developments in the spear of human rights jurisprudence in the contemporary times.


About the Author

Professor (Dr) Sreenivasulu NS is working as Professor of Law at the National University of Juridical Sciences, (NUJS) Kolkata, India. He has been working on interdisciplinary research with progressive approach on varied issues of law and policy. He has been researching in the fields of intellectual property law, biotechnology law and human rights law. He has good publications to his credit and as such he has to his credit over 90 publications including 6 books, 3 monograms, 9 edited volumes and 72 research articles. His representative list of publications include books on “Law relating to Intellectual Property” published by Penguin-Partridge Publications, Bloomington, Indiana, USA (2013) Law relating to Biotechnology, Oxford Publications, London, UK (2016). He has successfully completed projects funded and supported by UGC, MHRD and Ministry of Law and Justice, Govt of India. He is instrumental in public-private and industry-academia partnerships at NUJS wherein couple of multinational corporations including Larson and Turbo and Microsoft India funded executive programs were successfully introduced and administered by him. He had invitations from Max plank Institute of Intellectual Property Law, Germany in 2010 and 2013, Script, School of Law, Edinburg, Scotland in 2010, Global Illuminators, Malaysia in 2014, Bar of Wisconsin, Madison, USA in 2016. He has been resourceful in international and national conferences and as such he was invited for International Conference at Bali, Indonesia in 2014 and International Conference on Intellectual Property law in Ankara, Turkey in 2015 where he presented paper on interface between law of trademarks, consumer law and competition law. He has provided advice for government of India on Geographical Indications law, advised NGOS on human rights and unorganized labor issues, entrepreneurs on IPR and legal compliance matters and advised universities, institutions and educational trusts on varied educational matters. He has been working in the area of human rights and introduced specialized course on “Human Rights and Development” at NUJS. He is also involved in the activities of World Commission of Human Rights at London.
