About the Book

Frothy Illusions, by Jacob Isaac, is not merely a book of poems; it is a sustained meditation on the fragility of our certainties and the invisible architecture of the illusions that sustain human experience. Each poem, in its thematic and stylistic Singularity, participates in a shared inquiry the tension between the ephemeral and the enduring, between appearance and substance, between the froth of immediacy and the silent depth of the real. Throughout the volume, the texts converse with one another as variations on a single philosophical motif. Some poems explore the historical and social dimensions of our collective beliefs; others venture into the intimacy of the subject—into memory, love, loss, and hope; still others assume an almost metaphysical gaze upon time, identity, and meaning. Yet in all of them, a common question persists: what truly remains when the froth dissolves? Across its fifty-three movements-from "I am the Carnival" to "Conditioning of Fantasy"-Dr: Jacob Isaac constructs a cognitive landscape.
